Praise for CHASING COURAGE

Karin Jensen has a lifetime of experience as a traveler to the world's more remote and challenging destinations.  Her love of travel and her passion for exploring new cultures have provided her with a keen eye for the detail.  This detail allows us to explore the differences between global cultures as well as the shared commonalities of humanity.

Her writing transports us into the lives of the people she encounters, and enables us to experience their language, food, geography and living conditions just as if we were there. We join Nergui on his daunting ride across the steppe and we are there with him to experience his observations, his fears, his challenges and ultimately, his triumph.

Karin enables us to not only visit Mongolia, or to sample life as a Mongolian….she enables us to BE a very brave Mongolian boy as we Chase Courage on horseback.

Rob Mc. Callum, Co-founder EYOS Expeditions

This is the story of a boy in Mongolia who wants to win the approval of his father by proving to him that he is as good as his sister was. Nergui’s character is beautifully drawn and feels very real. The story kept my attention from start to finish. I very much liked the unhurried rhythm of the piece. At times I felt like I was riding along the steppe with Nergui and his granddad. This is a beautiful text, written with a lot of respect and thought. I love the concept of a book series like that; as a 10 year old child I would have devoured this sort of thing. Anita Lehman, author of The Geneva Chronicles

"Lovely, truly special. Karin Jensen has written a touching story that not only informs young readers about a different culture but connects them to universal concerns: safety of family and loved ones, desire to please parents, fear of a challenge and disappointment/tragedy, and how to deal with all of these. Well done."
